Oh Japan… There is so much to say about this wondrous country. I was fortunate enough to spend a year exploring and experiencing Japan in 2011. I documented some of it on film. It’s really hard to put your finger on Japan and how to describe it. Everything seems familiar yet so different at the same time. It’s futuristic, but stuck in this retro parallel at the same time.

Film was the perfect format to document my time spent exploring. I really appreciate the quirks, subtleties and creative prowess of the Japanese. Everything is designed, aesthetically functional, there is care and consideration involved.
